Musculoskeletal Pathology

by

Review of Mosby’s Pathology for Massage Therapists, by Salvo and Anderson. For the class taught by Dr. Johnson.

The information about the skeletal and muscle system in chapter 4 is helpful in determining how to massage someone with abnormalities in their bones and muscles. I have massaged an elderly man who was 90 years old in the massage intern clinic who had kyphosis. I wish I had this info on how to make him more comfortable. When I gave him his massage I was nervous and gave him a light massage because I was afraid I would hurt him or break a bone. Now I have more knowledge on how to massage a client like that.
