After learning the benefits of massage for clients with "controlled" hypertension (medication), I would be interested in clarifying why it is contraindicated for clients who are not on medication or diet and exercise regimes. Again with the known benefits plus the fact that massage encourages body awareness, and self care, it could at least encourage the client to take steps toward controlling their hypertension through a more preventative means, perhaps not needing medication at all.
