Athlete’s Foot. When I massage clients, I always wear gloves when massaging their feet. My very first client I was massaging as an intern, had athele’s foot. He was lying prone and I was massaging the plantar portion of his feet. I didn’t see or feel anything unusual. It was time for him to turn supine. I took the sheet off his feet to massage them again and saw red, dry skin on the dorsi of his foot. I decided not to massage his feet anymore during the session and used the hand sanitizer in the room before continuing the massage. Never know what your gonna find!
