Review of Mosby’s Pathology for Massage Therapists, by Salvo and Anderson. Within the course of Dr. Johnson.
I found this chapter to be very helpful. it gives us M.T’s good pointers on what we should be looking for when a client seeks our services, and also on our client intake form. It reinforces for us to be visual when it comes to the client. I really dont like the pictures they have on the book, but at the same time I’m glad they are there as far as skin conditions go. I haven’t had many ewww moments with any of my clients as far as skin goes. Has any M.Ts’ encountered pitting edema yet? I bet that feels all squishy. I also like the section in this chapter were it discusses that goals with the client should be made. I feel that’s important if we are trying to really help our clients feel better. Its always a great feeling also when we see progress in our clients.
