Ten Benefits of Massage Therapy

September 29, 2020
  • Massage therapy is the healing manipulation of the soft tissues. Also, a massage can be one of the most pleasing experiences a person can enjoy. Since ancient times, massage has been used as a treatment for stress or pain. Interestingly, there are many pluses massage provides that way beyond stress and pain relief.
  • There are a wide class of massages. These are just a few examples:
    • Swedish
    • Thai
    • Hot stone
    • Aromatherapy massage
    • Trigger point
    • Sports
    • Deep tissue
    • Shiatsu
  • It is said the best option is to give them all a try and see what works best for you. Each person seems to have his/her own favorite.
  • See how receiving a massage on a frequent basis can have a great impact on your mental and physical health:
    • 1. Improved sleep. If you’ve never had a massage before, you’ll be amazed by how well you sleep that night. There’s a lot of theories on why massage helps your ability to sleep, but there’s no doubt that it does. If you toss and turn to sleep, get a massage and see for yourself how much it helps you.
    • 2. It corrects the damage of sitting all day. A massage might be the most enjoyable cure for the pain that sitting all day causes to your body. It will help to lift your back and neck. Massage will decompress your spine and make you feel many years younger. If you spend a full day sitting in a chair, a massage is a needed.
    • 3. Massage is a great at calming. You’ll never feel more relaxed than you will after a great massage. It seems to squeeze all the stress out of your physical frame and leave you feeling like a sleepy, relaxed kitten.
    • 4. It increases your white blood cell count. Massage has been shown in numerous health studies to raise white cell count. It improves your immune system and reduces the likelihood of becoming ill.
    • 5. Massage sharpens focus. Focus and relaxation are related. Massage has the ability to free your mind and allow you to focus more sharply. Those that struggle to concentrate on a task often find that massage is helpful in this aspect.
    • 6. Lowered depression symptoms. A routine massage helps to prevent depression. It also reduces the symptoms of depression when you’re feeling down. If you’ve been feeling emotionally down, a massage is worth a try.
    • 7. Enhanced posture. Studies show that massage can help improve your posture. If you’re prone to hanging your head forward or slumping, massage could be the answer. Many people report feeling like they are taller after a massage. This is the result of improved posture and feeling better about ones self.
    • 8. Increased flexibility. Enhanced flexibility is the result. Flexibility is primarily a function of nervous tension. Massage helps to reduce the amount of tension in the muscle.
    • 9. Reduced pain. It might be right thinking to assume that massage would increase pain when you consider that the massage therapist is squeezing, pushing, and pulling on your body. To the contary, the opposite is true. The massage itself could be painful for a brief time, however you’ll feel less pain after the massage than before.
    • 10. Prevention of injury. Massage does great things for your muscles, ligaments, and tendons. A significant number of professional athletes receive regular massages to help prevent and treat injuries.
  • If you have never had a massage, you’re in for a delight. If you have had a massage, why aren’t you having them more frequent? Massage is a great activity to include in your health activity plan.
  • Keep and open mind and ask around for referrals. Based on your location, there are licensed and unlicensed massage therapists. You never know who will work the greatest peace on your body.

RES of Healthcare Online Tutoring, LLC Celebrates GivingTuesday with Disaster Relief Tutor Funding, joining millions around the world participating in the global generosity movement

Worldwide December 3, 2019 – This GivingTuesday, RES of Healthcare Online Tutoring, LLC will inspire generosity by accepting donations to help those in educational need.

GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement, unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and their world. GivingTuesday will kick off the generosity season this year by inspiring people to give back on December 3rd, and throughout the year.

RES of Healthcare Online Tutoring, LLC has joined GivingTuesday to increase the awareness of students needing assistance with education when disasters affect their communities. Our goal is to provide online tutoring assistance to as many as possible. Grade school children are encouraged to use our services. Middle school, high school, college students may apply also as funds are available. Those wanting to advance their knowledge and who are not in a formal course are likewise encouraged to register.

“After-school tutoring programs, care for the elderly, shelters for the homeless, disaster relief work, and a variety of other services would all benefit from government [and community] funding.” stated Tony Campolo.

GivingTuesday was launched in 2012 as a simple idea: to create a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past seven years, this idea has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.

People demonstrate generosity in many ways on GivingTuesday. Whether it’s helping a neighbor or stranger out, showing up for an issue or people we care about, or giving to causes we care about, every act of generosity counts. GivingTuesday has raised billions of dollars for critical causes around the world and gets 14.2 billion impressions on social media from people and organizations speaking up for the causes that matter to them and encouraging others to get involved.

“GivingTuesday inspires people all around the world to embrace their power to drive progress around the causes they care about, not just on one day but throughout the year.” said Asha Curran, GivingTuesday’s CEO, and co-founder. “With country and community leaders, millions of organizations, and countless givers of all kinds, GivingTuesday is creating a shared space where we can see the radical implications of a more generous world.”

Disaster Relief Tutoring Fund

April 29, 2019

Disaster Relief Tutoring Fund

In the anticipation of natural disasters, we’re asking for donations to assist students who will be affected by the upcoming storms. Disasters may be fire, hurricane, tragedy, earthquake, flood, storm, or tornado. We are an online tutoring service helping as many as we can nationwide. This is our third year volunteering a much-needed service. We provide services from the pre-kindergarten to post-graduate level. Examples of subjects are math, science, English as a second language, health, nursing, Microsoft Office, college admissions assistance/personal statement, employment preparation/resume, and professional speaking.

One student wrote “I was really amazed when one of your tutors helped me with Excel today. I thought it would take hours to solve a problem. Your tutor saved me days of hair-pulling. She helped me to solve my problems within minutes!” Another student typed “Distance teaching is OK with me as long as I learn how to build a web site like I want to!” The third person said, “It is a pleasure to have you tutor our son. He really enjoys the tutoring lessons with you. Thank you.”

Our main expenses are for support staff, textbook, computer, Internet, and telephone services. For each $100 that you donate, you will receive a free and complimentary $15 online tutoring session.

If your family has been affected, please contact us to receive free tutoring for your students.

You may start donating today. A thank-you goes to each one of you for donating your funds. Please tell others, ask about non-bank card payment methods, and contact us for details using the green envelope in the upper right corner of our GoFundMe page. 4 Tips to Relieve Stress

October 15, 2015

Your Rewards and Compensations For Helping Others

by Patricia Coldiron
3/13/2015 / Health

You may feel like you should always be in control of your emotions, but you can’t ignore the pounding headaches, tight muscles, and short temper that you are suddenly experiencing. Everyone suffers from stress at some point in life, but by following some simple tips, you’ll soon be back to your cheerful self.

Here are 4 tips to eliminate stress:

Lean on God

God knows exactly what you need and is just waiting for you to call on Him for help. One of my favorite scriptures concerning stress relief can be found in Philippians 4: 6-7. “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Take It Slow

Taking deep breaths from the diaphragm allows full oxygen exchange throughout the chest and lungs. When you are feeling stressed, sit down in a comfortable position, put one hand on your chest, and the other on your stomach. Breathe in through your nose. If you are deep breathing correctly, you will see the hand on your stomach rise as you breathe, while the hand on your chest should only move slightly. Repeat 10 times and feel yourself relax.

Journal

You may feel like your thoughts are all over the place, and writing down how you are feeling will help you to clarify thoughts and put them into the proper perspective. Make a habit of journaling regularly, and you will discover the things that make you happy, while eliminating toxic people and situations.

Practice Gratitude

This tip has been the most helpful when I am feeling stressed. There are so many things to be thankful for, that even the worse problems don’t seem that bad. Practice gratitude by making a gratitude list of everything you’re thankful for. I like to do this in the morning and before I go to bed. Include everything you can think of. There is good food to eat, family and friends to treasure, a warm house to sleep in, and most of all a God who loves and leads us.

I have always felt called to write for God, and I enjoy sharing my knowledge with others.

After many years in the corporate world, I am living my dream of writing full-time.

Community Action Announcement

We are highlighting one very caring young lady. She needs our support and donations. Her goal is to obtain adequate housing, safe transportation, and food for her and the family. This sweet family consists of her older sister, 2 brothers, daughter, and mother. The family is struggling since August to find housing that is large enough to comfortably accommodate everyone. They are also struggling to have the school-age children in one steady school. A familiar set of classmates, teachers, and routine would improve the lives of this family tremendously. This would also prevent disorganization and chaos. The highlighted young lady is struggling to look for employment and care for her preschool age daughter. She has a brilliant idea of participating in online studies. Her studies brought curiosity to our online educational services. She is a very motivated and active student. The knowledge she is obtaining is leading closer to the goal of obtaining adequate housing. Yet, she and her family are in much need of money to quickly get out of the clutches of an over-cramped residence. There are six family members living in 450 square feet of space. Please donate freely to the educational advancement of this young lady as she seeks to improve the living conditions of her struggling family.

Employment Opportunities in Healthcare Informatics, comment

April 1, 2014

There are plenty of jobs in healthcare informatics. This is a relatively new field in health care. Technology is becoming more useful every day in ways we did not imagine 50 years ago. Technology will continue to grow and change as new ideas surface. As this growth and change occurs, people will need to keep up and be able to fix these machines/programs as they go down. Now that technology has surfaced into the health care field, more jobs will become available. This include massage therapy where one therapy center employs several office personal using informatics and technology.
